We looked at the blockchain sphere as a whole, taking lessons from DeFi, rollups, and recent advances in the space together with new research to create something truly innovative. These NFTs are a class of their own compared to web2.5 gaming NFTs, as they provide long-term value and maintain their state regardless of the success or failure of the game developer’s business. This means that even if the game’s developer goes bankrupt, the games built on Paima Engine will still exist, and the Stateful NFTs will still have value because the games themselves are open trustless protocols that can continue forever (no private servers run by the dev company required as with most blockchain games today).
