These technical advancements come together into a casual on-chain game which highlights the underlying potential of Paima Engine and everything we are building. The Paima Vision for Web3 Gaming
In this recent video, our Co-founder, Robert Kornacki, introduces our vision for blockchain gaming. When we began exploring the potential of trustless Web3 gaming, we first sat down and took a look at the current landscape of blockchain games. Unfortunately, we realized that many of these games are not designed with long-term sustainability in mind, instead focusing on short-term economic models that quickly become oversaturated with little to no new technological innovations at all. To illustrate this point, we cover the pitfalls of the ever-popular Play2Earn model in the following video.
These games are not the future of blockchain gaming, but in fact “Web2.5 Games”, meaning that they simply use old centralized Web2 gaming stacks with tokens + NFTs glued on top. We believe that just like how DeFi was born out of an ecosystem that built trustless financial primitives, the future of Web3 gaming will be built by an ecosystem focused on building trustless gaming primitives. This is what sets Paima Studios apart and why we are so passionate in our direction, as our vision directs us towards innovation over short-term solutions.

Jungle Wars: NFT Rumble — Trustless Web3 Gaming
Jungle Wars: NFT Rumble is the first game built on Paima Engine, which puts blockchain at the heart thanks to rollup-adjacent technology, thereby enabling trustless Web3 gaming to become a reality!
Jungle Wars is a true Web3 game where all of a player’s moves are recorded as, and replayable from, blockchain data. Combined with Stateful NFTs, a player’s game record of wins, losses, and draws are all entirely discoverable on-chain.
Some may be wondering just how scalable this can truly be? However thanks to dedicated research into Paima Engine, each game is in fact its very own custom-made L2 deployment (similar to rollups) which unlocks a new level of scalability that no other L2 solution can currently offer in the realm of gaming today.
As such, with trustless gaming primitives like Stateful NFTs put together with new scaling solutions (both enabled by Paima Engine), Jungle Wars: NFT Rumble brings to life new potential for the blockchain gaming space which was never possible before. Users can have a great time playing a casual PvP game, while learning more and more about where the space will be heading towards over the next few years.

In Jungle Wars: NFT Rumble, players create their own customized lobbies for matchmaking and face others online through the blockchain itself. You will be able to choose to make your lobby hidden or open it up to players from around the world, while customizing various aspects to suit your preferences. Whether you want to face your friends in the depths of the Jungle or under the Ocean, whether you want to take it nice slow over a few days or play a lightning round, the options are all open to you.
Jungle Wars: NFT Rumble also offers practice lobbies for new players to learn and enjoy. These lobbies allow you to train and improve your strategies by playing against AI opponents. It’s a great opportunity to learn the fundamentals and try out different techniques and see how they work against computer-controlled adversaries.
